John Welham, Education Officer for the Cornwall Heritage Trust, has prepared two packs to be used in schools. One was created in 2009 and is about the Giant’s Quoit. It can be downloaded as a PDF.

Put the quoit in the Frying Pan Field – Make a Thaumatrope
The thaumatrope is a toy that was popular in the 19th century. A disc with a picture on each side is attached to two pieces of string. When the strings are twirled quickly between the fingers the two pictures appear to blend into one. Ours shows the quoit on one side and an empty landscape on the other.
